Real Name: Kimberly Alexis Bledel
Birthday: September 16, 1981

Biography And Filmography:

Alexis Bledel has charmed audiences portraying Rory Gilmore in the WB's family comedy series "Gilmore Girls" for 150 episodes, and has won over viewers, and critics alike, who have shot Alexis into Hollywood stardom. But it has not always been fame and fortune for Bledel, who got her start in television commercials and modelling before auditioning for feature films.

Bledel's first appearance on the big screen came in the starring role of Winifred 'Winnie' Foster in the romantic fantasy "Tuck Everlasting" (2002), William Hurt, Sissy Spacek and Ben Kingsley, about a young woman who meets and falls in love with a young man who is part of a family of immortals. Her next role was in the independent short film "DysEnchanted" (2004), co-starring with Laura Kightlinger, where seven storybook heroines meet once a week to process their issues in group therapy.

She than played Georgina 'Georgie' Darcy in the spoof comedy "Bride And Prejudice" (2004), where Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice gets a Bollywood treatment, before being cast in the dramatic "The Orphan King" (2005) starring with Chris Evans, about four boys growing up in the 1980's who start selling marijuana, and as they get older they start selling harder drugs and take control of a nightclub. But the big Hollywood break for the young actress was the role of Becky in the crime thriller "Sin City" (2005), a film that explores the dark and miserable town of Basin City, and tells the story of three different people all caught up in the violent corruption of the city. She showed her muscle in the film that won grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and won over 14 different awards and earned 29 nominations. The actress had become a celebrity, and people wanted more of her.

The success of "Sin City" lead to the role of Lena in the romantic adventure comedy "The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants", Starring with, Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera and Blake Lively. The movie is based on the popular book, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", by Anne Brashares. The film revolves around four best friends who spend their first summer apart from one another by sharing a magical pair of jeans. Despite being of various shapes and sizes, each one of them fits perfectly into the pants. To keep in touch they pass these pants to each other as well as the adventures they are going through while apart. Bledel's star was shining, and here celebrity status was getting bigger.

She then accepted the co-starring role of Kate Peterson in the comedy "I'm Reed Fish" (2006), about a man, Reed Fish, whose life turns into chaos when a high school crush returns to Mud Meadows on the eve of his marriage to the small town's sweetheart. She next appeared in the comedy short film "Life Is Short" (2006), with "Family Guy" creator and voice-master Seth MacFarlane, a comedy about a short guy who, at the behest of his crackpot life coach (Seth MacFarlane), leaves his perfect girlfriend to pursue his dream of being with a tall woman.

After finishing high school and her first year as a film major at New York University, Alexis was hired and cast as sixteen-year-old Rory on "Gilmore Girls", a drama centering around the relationship between a thirty-something single mother and her teen daughter living in Stars Hollow, Connecticut. "Gilmore Girls" went on to win an Emmy Award, Teen Choice Award, and earned Bledel a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series - Leading Young Actress.

Bledel was on a role, and it was now time for the sequel "The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2", reuniting the original cast of four young women who continue the journey toward adulthood that began with "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." Now three years later, these lifelong friends embark on separate paths for their first year of college and the summer beyond, but remain in touch by sharing their experiences with each other as they always have-with honesty and humor.

The following year, she co-starred in the romantic comedy "The Good Guy" (2009), with Scott Porter and Bryan Greenberg, the story about Tommy Fielding (Porter) who is a rising young star on Wall Street who has it all: good looks, good friends, and a budding romance which could finally be the real thing. But when a seemingly hapless co-worker befriends his new girlfriend, Tommy becomes the unwitting agent of his own downfall - or so it seems.

She wrapped her year in the starring  role of Ryden Malby in the comedy "The Post Grad Survival Guide" (2009), also starring Carol Burnett and Zach Gilford, where a recent college graduate (Bledel)  moves back in with her family while she figures out what she wants to do next.
