Real Name: Anna Chlumsky
Birthday: December 3, 1980

Biography And Filmography:

Anna Chlumsky is one of the few child actors who has been successful in transitioning into the adult world of Hollywood without a major disaster along the way. Born in Chicago Illinois on December 3, 1980, e was modeling in print advertising by her first birthday, and continues her career today after emerging as a talented, well adjusted adult actress.

Chlumsky was first seen on the movie screen in a small role in the John Hughes family comedy "Uncle Buck" (1989). The movie featured John Candy and a young Macaulay Culkin, and she almost went uncredited for her tiny role as a schoolgirl. But her performance was enough for Hughes to recommend the actress for her first big Hollywood role.

In 1991, she was cast in a starring role alongside Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis and Macaulay Culkin, in the dramatic "My Girl" (1991), where her character is obsessed with death because her father is and undertaker, and her mom Mom has passed away, and becomes friends with a Boy (Culkin) who seems to understand her. She won a Best Actress MTV Movie Award and a Young Artist Award for Most Promising Young Newcomer. Chlumsky would go on to star in the sequel "My Girl 2" in 1994.

That same year she starred with Sissy Spacek in the comedy "Trading Mom" (1994), where a family rebels against their workaholic, nagging mother, so they trade mothers only to learn things were not as bad as they had once thought. The actress then appeared as Missy Chandler in the television movie "A Child's Wish", a sad story of cancer, and the loss of a family member, ironically starring the late John Ritter.

Another television movie followed with the dramatic "Miracle In The Woods" (1997), about two women who find that their inheritance includes a secret tenant who has waited decades for justice. Anna then made guest appearances on several television shows including "Cupid", "Early Edition", "Eight Days A Week", "Law & Order" and "30 Rock" with Tina Fey.

The actress chose to stay away from show business for the next ten years as she grew out of her awkward teen years, in hopes of emerging later as a serious adult actress. The plan worked, and she returned in 2007 for the horror thriller "Blood Car" (2007), a movie set in the near future, where gas prices are so high that one man is determined to find an alternate fuel source. That alternate fuel source turns out to be blood...human blood.

She then took a starring role in the comedy "My Sweet Misery" (2008), and wrapped the year with the film "Eavesdrop" (2008). Chlumsky then was hired and cast in the comedy "In The Loop" (2009) starring Steve Coogan and James Gandolfini.

Anna rounded out her year in the romantic comedy "The Good Guy" (2009), with Alexis Bledel, about a rising young star on Wall Street who has it all: good looks, good friends, and a budding romance which could finally be the real thing. But when a seemingly hapless co-worker befriends his new girlfriend, Tommy becomes the unwitting agent of his own downfall-- or so it seems.
