Haley Bennett hails from the sunshine state, born in Fort Myers, Florida in 1988.
She then relocated to Stow, Ohio
to attend college and graduated from the Barbizon School in Akron, Ohio. After
returning to her native Florida, she studied music and acting
at the Barron Collier High School, and graduated in 2005. She then
relocated to Los Angeles so she could seek a
career in show business.
Bennett quickly found a manager and agent and started auditioning almost as soon as she arrived in California. She got her first big break playing the role of Cora Corman in the musical comedy "Music and Lyrics" (2007), about a washed up singer who is given three days to write a chart-topping hit for a would-be young teen pop music sensation. Though he's never written a song in his life, he hits it off with an innovative younger woman with a flair for words. She was then hired and cast in the role of Kendall in the comedy "College" (2008), the Drake Bell vehicle about a wild weekend for three young high school seniors who visit a local college campus as prospective freshmen. Her role may have been small, but Hollywood took notice and wanted more of her. The actress would not disappoint, and her career making role was just around the corner. In 2008, she got her big movie
break starring with Chace
Crawford and Shannon Marie Woodward in the eerie horror thriller
"The Haunting Of Molly Hartley" (2008), the disturbing story
of Molly who is a seventeen-year-old girl who recently
relocated to a new town for a fresh start after her mother's terrifying
psychotic breakdown. While struggling to find her place amongst the
teens at her new school, she becomes haunted by disturbing
visions and voices that expose a dark secret from her past. Haley's
performance proved she could muster the talent to carry a
big-budget movie, and audiences and critics loved her.
Another big break for the actress came when she was hired and cast to lend a supporting role alongside big celebrity names including Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson in the comedy "Marley & Me" (2008), where a family learns important life lessons from their adorable, but naughty and obsessed dog. "Marley & Me" is based on the popular book by John Grogan. Watch Haley Bennett In "The Haunting Of Molly Hartley" Movie Trailer
