Biography And Filmography:

The older sister of teen sensation Hilary Duff, actress Haylie started her show business career as a ballet dancer in her native Texas. By age 12, She was auditioning for commercial and television roles when she landed her first job in an uncredited role for the television series “True Women” (1997), starring Angelina Jolie and Dana Delany. She was then hired and cast in a small role in the television drama "Hope", directed by uber celebrity Goldie Hawn, in the story about a small town's big secret, a family's crisis, and a young girl's struggle to reveal the truth.  

Haylie then relocated to Los Angeles California to pursue her Hollywood career full time, and was quickly cast in a supporting role in "Dreams In The Attic" (2000), about a young girls, who finds an old chest full of mysterious dreams and fantasies hidden in a dusty old attic. She then took a role in the small, independent short comedy "The Newman Shower" (2001), portraying Wendy, the girlfriend of a young teen boy who is afraid to shower in front of others during summer camp.

The young actress also made several guest appearances on television shows including “Chicago Hope”, "The Amanda Show" starring Amanda Bynes, “Boston Public”, "Lizzie McGuire" starring her younger sister Hilary, “Third Watch”, "American Dreams" with Will Estes and Brittany Snow, "That's So Raven" and "One On One".  

In 2004, her outstanding role as Katina Jones in “That’s So Raven”, caught the attention of writer and director Jared Hess, who was looking for an actor to portray a comparable role in his film, “Napoleon Dynamite” (2004) starring Jon Heder, about a listless and alienated teenager (Heder) who decides to help his new friend win the class presidency in their small western high school while dealing with his bizarre family life back home. After an audition, she landed the role of Summer Wheatly and her Hollywood big-screen career took off like a rocket. Hollywood and audiences loved the young star, and newcomer Jon Heder. "Napoleon Dynamite" was nominated for a Grammy Award, MTV Movie Award, Independent Spirit Award, Sundance Film Festival Award, and Teen Choice Award. All told, the film walked away with ten different wins and eighteen different nominations. 

She then appeared in three episodes of the popular television series "Joan Of Arcadia", starring Amber Tamblyn, about a young women, who speaks to God, in the form of various people who give her assignments to help those around her. 

The next big-screen movie role for the actress was a starring role alongside sister Hilary in "Material Girls" (2006), about two wealthy sisters, both heiresses to their family's cosmetics fortune, who are given a wake-up call when a scandal and ensuing investigation strip them of their wealth.

Haylie then returned to the small-screen to appear in 32 episodes of the long-running wholesome family drama "7th Heaven" (2005), starring teen heart-throb David Gallagher and future Hollywood A-lister Jessica Biel. The weekly series follows the Camden family as the minister father (Stephen Collins), and stay-at-home mother (Catherine Hicks), deal with the drama of having seven children, ranging from babies to adults with families of their own. After Leaving "7th Heaven", she returned to the movies with a supporting role as Debbie in the comedy "My Sexiest Year" (2007), starring Frankie Muniz, a romantic coming-of-age story where the sympathy shown by a glamorous model is returned 30 years later by the young man she inspired.

Duff then took the starring role in the Irving Rothberg independent film "Legacy" (2008), about a nerdy, overweight rush week participant who is found dead at the hottest sorority house on the campus, and the three most popular girls of the house are prime suspects. She had proven herself in both television and film, and Hollywood wanted more of the young actress. The job offers poured in, and the actress lined up no less then six major projects for the 2008-2009 movie season.

First was the comedy "Foodfight" (2008), the animated family comedy starring Charlie Sheen, Hilary and Haylie, Eva Longoria Parker and  Christopher Lloyd. The clever film tells the story of what happens when the lights are turned off and the doors are locked, and chaos reigns for the animated products in a grocery store. Next, she took a starring role next to Lucy Hale in the thriller "Dead End" (2008), about five young students on spring break who meet at a secluded island cabin for a weekend getaway, and after a night of music, drinking and getting re-acquainted the five friends are shocked to find the cabin's caretaker murdered and the only boat off the island gone.

She then landed the starring role as Mercedez in the dramatic comedy "Doesn't Texas Ever End" (2008), about desperation and soul searching in a young couples relationship. The following year she took a starring role next to funny lady Cloris Leachman in the television Western themed "Love Takes Wing" (2009), before being cast in the starring role of Kim in the romantic comedy "Tug" (2009), about a small town guy who tries to decide between staying with his current girlfriend or going back to his psycho ex-girlfriend. 

She wrapped her year working with Rumer Willis in the comedy "Slightly Single In L.A." (2009), the story of Dale Squire (Rumer Willis), who is a hip, quirky, independent single girl living in Los Angeles, and after several failed attempts in relationships concludes that finding a meaningful relationship in Los Angeles. is impossible.
