Biography And Filmography: Young acting sensation Cameron Bright was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, on January 26 1993, and got his start in show business the old fashioned way - by auditioning and appearing in print and television commercials while waiting for his big break. Cameron first landed small guest roles on series television shows including "Higher Ground" with Hayden Christensen, "Dark Angel" with Jessica Alba, "Night Visions", and "Stargate SG-1" starring Richard Dean Anderson, before being hired and cast in the television movie "The Christmas Secret" (2000), starring Beau Bridges, a magical story about a scientist, who sets out to prove that reindeer can fly and along the way discovers the true meaning of faith, family and Christmas.
Bright then worked with Corin Nemic in the thriller "My Brothers Keeper" (2002), before taking a small role alongside Thora Birch in the mystery sci-fi television movie "Shadow Realm" (2002). The actors first feature film role came simply in the role of "Kid" in the action adventure movie "Lone Hero" (2002), about an actor in a Wild West show who must become a mythical Western Hero when a biker gang descends upon a small Montana town. The young actor was off to a good start, and building his acting resume while gaining experience in both television and film. His first high-profile Hollywood feature was in the Ashton Kutcher film "The Butterfly Effect" (2004), portraying young Tommy, about a young man who blocks out harmful memories of significant events of his life, but as he grows up, he finds a way to remember them and a supernatural way to alter his life. The project was a moderate success and was nominated for a Teen Choice Award and took first place at the Brussels International Festival. That same year, he took a starring role in "Godsend" (2004), working with Greg Kinnear, Rebecca Romijn and Robert De Niro, where a couple agrees to have their deceased son cloned under the supervision of an mysterious doctor, but bizarre things start to happen years after his rebirth. Another big break came for the growing star when he appeared opposite Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall in the mystery "Birth" (2004), about a woman who becomes convinced that a ten year old boy is the reincarnation of her dead husband. The films success gained it a Golden Globe Nomination and he took away a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Supporting Young Actor. The young man had hit the big time and Hollywood came looking for more.
The following year, the actor took the role of Oleg Yugorsky in the crime thriller "Running Scared" (2006), where after a drug operation goes bad, a man is put in charge of disposing the gun that shot a dirty cop. But things go wrong for him after a neighbor kid steals the gun and uses it to shoot his abusive father. Thanks to Cameron's role, he was nominated for another Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actor. He then took the starring role of Six in the sci-fi thriller "Ultraviolet" (2006), about a beautiful woman infected with a virus that gives her superhuman powers who has to protect a boy in a futuristic world, who is thought to be carrying antigens that would destroy all the creatures called hemophages. A small role followed in the sci-fi thriller "X-Men: The Last Stand", starring Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin and James Marsden, about what happens when a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto.
