Biography And Filmography: An accomplished actor and director with perfect blue eyes, Rob Estes was shot to the status of sex symbol and sexy celebrity in 1991 with his portrayal as smooth talking Palm Beach homicide detective, Chris Lorenzo on the smash hit television series "Silk Stalkings" (1991-1999), and then as restaurant owner Kyle McBride on the FOX hit teen show “Melrose Place” (1992-1999). In a twist of fate, the young sexy cast of “Melrose Place” also included his wife Josie Bissett, with whom he had fallen in love with, and then married after meeting in 1991. While the two were married for more than a ten years, their 2005 divorce stunned audiences, but ultimately led him to focus his talents as an actor and director. After his divorce, he would join the ensemble cast of one of televisions biggest hits, “C.S.I.: Miami” (2002- ), and the world would know him as a super star. Born in Norfolk, Virginia on July 22, 1963, he relocated to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California, graduating in 1987 with a BFA in drama. In 1986, he won his first on-screen role in "Have You Tried Talking to Patty?”, a CBS afternoon Schoolbreak Special, as the boyfriend of the heroes best friend. Estes had only one line in the show, but it was enough to get him seen by Hollywood and in the door for more auditions.
From 1986-87, he portrayed the character of Glen Gallagher on the much-loved soap opera “Days of Our Lives”. When he started on the show, his character was in the middle of a friendship with Melissa Reeves’ character Jennifer Horton, the outsider of the family, but things heated up between the two, eventually leading to a romantic encounter. Estes was then cast in roles on the television movie, "Student Exchange” with Gavin MacLeod and a young Heather Graham, about two young teens who are are successful in high school with their grades, but not very popular with the other students. He followed with a string of guest appearances on numerous television show including "Simon & Simon", "21 Jump Street" with Johnny Depp and "The Young Riders" with Josh Brolin, "Zorro". Rob's first first big-screen role was as Corey in the horror film "Uninvited" (1988), before landing a role in the independent drama "Trapper County War" (1989), about two young city boys who get into trouble with a backwoods North Carolina family when they try to help an abused step-daughter. He also took small roles in the films "Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge" (1989) and "Aces: Iron Eagle III" (1992) as a pilot under the supervision of Louis Gossett Jr. In 1991, he got his big break when he was cast as Detective Chris Lorenzo on the television series “Silk Stalkings”. A modern television crime drama where Cassandra "Cassy" St. John and Tom Ryan are the new team in town, and it is now their job to catch the sex crime killers of Palm Beach. But not only are they are ex-partners who got married and then divorced, but now they are partners again as cops. The show was a smash hit with audiences and avid fans, not only during prime-time, but also the years of syndication the show has enjoyed.
In 2000, he appeared in two television shows simultaneously, first with a recurring role on “Suddenly Susan” (1996-2000) as Oliver, the object of Brooke Shields’ love, and then in several episodes of “Providence” (1999-2002), as the romantic love interest of Dr. Sydney Hansen. "Providence" went on to win an Emmy Award and People's Choice Award. More television guests roles followed including appearances on "The Twilight Zone", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Gilmore Girls" with Alexis Bledel. Beginning in 2003, he started keeping a low public profile after a move to Seattle, Washington, with his wife and their two children. Even though the husband and wife team co-starred together in the family television movie “I Do, They Don’t” (2005) as two friends who spontaneously get married in Las Vegas to the shock of their children from previous relationships, it was not enough to salvage their failing real-life marriage. In January of 2006, Rob and Josie announced they were ending their thirteen year marriage after her demand that he move out of their home. With his marriage over, Rob returned to television projects full time, appearing in eight episodes as San Francisco detective Sean Cole in the police drama “The Evidence” (2006), and then moved on to take one of television’s biggest roles in the runaway success of “CSI Miami” (2002- ), as Nick Townsend, a menacing convicted felon and ex-husband of Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) who unexpectedly reappears. He then took the role of Tom Hogan for thirteen episodes in "Women's Murder Club" (2007), about a homicide detective, a medical examiner, a newspaper reporter and a young assistant district attorney who work together to solve homicide investigations.
In 2008, it was announced that Estes would play the role of Harry Wilson in the reincarnation of the 1990's hit "90210", the teen drama that shot many young Hollywood celebrities into super-stardom later in their career. The new "90210 - The Next Generation" starred Chantelle Barry, Shannen Doherty, Ryan Eggold, Jennie Garth and Jessica Stroup. The updated story revolved around Tabitha Mills, the matriarch of the family, who was an actress and alcoholic, and who was famous during the 1970s, and her son, Harrison "Harry" Mills, a graduate of West Beverly Hills High, who decides to move back to 90210 accepting a position as the principal at his old high school.
